The Toyota Urban Cruiser is the latest offering from the Japanese brand in the compact electric SUV market.

This model was developed based on the 2023 Urban SUV concept and introduces a new platform for Toyota’s electric vehicle lineup, which will include 15 zero-emission models by 2026.

The vehicle is set to compete with rivals such as the Peugeot e-2008 and Hyundai Kona Electric. Three versions will be available: an entry-level version with a 49 kWh battery and 142 hp; a mid-range version with a 61 kWh battery and 172 hp; and a top-of-the-line version with all-wheel drive, two motors, and 181 hp.

The new platform ensures more interior space compared to the Yaris Cross, with a 140 mm longer wheelbase and sliding rear seats that offer flexibility similar to larger SUVs.

The bold design includes a darkened grille, light bars across the width, and wheels up to 19 inches. The seats are adjustable and reclining, and the interior space promises comfort for both passengers and luggage.

Inside, the standout feature is the integrated digital display panel, including a 10.1-inch multimedia center. The Urban Cruiser is equipped with several technologies, such as driving assistants, adaptive cruise control, and a 360° view. The AWD version offers extra features like hill descent control and trail mode, while the FWD version includes a snow mode.

The official debut of the model will take place at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2025, marking the return of the Urban Cruiser name with a modern and tech-forward proposal.
